I have been heating with firewood going on six seasons and I burn 10 full cords a year. I buy logs by the truckload and then cut split stack, etc. I have been splitting with a cub cadet 27 ton splitter which worked fine but was just slow with that amount of wood to split. Plus, it didn’t have side tables or any other fancy stuff. So I stepped up and bought a little bigger machine. She is an Eastonmade 9–16 and she is a monster. 14 hp, seven second cycle time, electric start, hydraulic log lift, hydraulically, adjustable, and interchangeable wedge. (I went with the tall four-way wedge.) and a nice big out feed table. That sucker is heavy – 2300 pounds but it chews through the wood! I’ve had it for 24 hours and I am happy so far!

mymx congrats on the new splitter. Easton seems to build a nice splitter. Back when I was running the Garn I normally split 10-20 cord a year. I couldn't image doing that with a box store splitter. My go to splitter had a 28 GPM two stage pump with a four inch cylinder and some days that seemed a little slow. I am not missing splitting wood and am slowing getting my back stock of Osage Orange firewood gone. One guy is taking around fifty cord.

Nice machine, I recently looked into buying one, but, the wait time was 3 months and I did not have the $$$ to throw at it. Wait time was the killer though.

> hydraulic log lift

This has become a must for me since wrestling 100#> pieces up to be split is not as fun or as fast as it used to be. I kind of wanted a LogOx splitter, but, for over $5,000 and no log lift, no thank you.

I think if I do not build my own box wedge splitter in the next couple of weeks, I am just going to buy a splitter with an adjustable height wedge. My current Chinesium 37 ton splitter has been fine with a single wedge and no log lift and at a 11-12 second cycle time. Though the spool valve has started to leak, maybe my fault. But, I need faster production since I have probably 10+ cords waiting. I just bought the cordless Ryobi kinetic splitter to see if it saves me much time since I like my firewood short and small.

How far behind am I? I paid someone $500 to take a few thousand pounds (6 tons?) of big 36"+ oak wood from a tree we cut down at my mother in law's house. Tree was filled with honey combs too! Too bad it was wasted, tree guy had to use my sprays to kill the bees so he could cut the tree down.

Since it did not happen if there were no pictures:
