In The Woods
Date 9-18-2005, Zap took off for a fishing tournament early in the morning (still raining hard) and met the State Police coming in our little town with the lights on and doing about 80 mph. All the rain we received brought a chit load of trees, beaver huts and lots of other good stuff down the brook that runs through our property.

This is one of the five bridges it blew out that morning, this bridge is located on route 56 just below the s curve. The residents on the other side used this boat to get across and which save them about a 10 mile detour one way.

They had one guy come through and was on top of the bridge when it went up then back down but somehow he made it across in his vehicle.

Attached are some pictures, still have to find the other pictures.

Ugh. That's a mess. We finally had a day of sunshine, after 15 rainy days. Much appreciated.

We had several local dams blow out in that storm. Took out many bridges and roads and also flooded a couple towns with feet of water. I don't wanna see that much rain ever again!

Zap,

What kind of fishing tourney?

I like the tin boat ferry on a rope. Very crafty, though the passenger should be closer to the back for stability sake. The current could still flip that boat even though it's on that rope - if the riders aren't balanced. A rudder on the back would keep it facing up stream.

Alot of destruction at that bridge. When we had high water events on the Potomac, the water would always be muddy and would leave alot of mud along the high water line. In your pictures, you can see the debris- but no mud. Must be a good rocky substrate and stream bed.

The Fall Classic is a Bass/Walleye Tournament. Your two best Bass and your two best Walleye for weigh in. One year they had a man catch a big mouth bass that weighed seven pounds which took the big fish contest.

Sure would hate to pull the kayaks out this time of year! Wow

Wow Zap

You need to put up a ramp and jump it like the Dukes of Hazzard!

The thruway just north of Lake George was closed the day after that one. Luckily my buddy called me and we got off earlier and took some back country roads for a wild ride.
