Your correct, the bk meter doesnt show temps, however between the old condar and bk meter, they were basically in the same area opposed to the new condar which was pegged out. There was only three 1 1/2" x 8" pieces an oak branch in the stove, as I had just fired up the stove 20 minutes earlier. After seeing how well the Auber works, Id like to use something similar to measure the cats temp.

I use an auber for my flue temps above the shop stove. It’s been awesome for that.

First burn with the new probe, seems to be acting appropriately. It is reading higher than my oem 11 year old probe did at about the same temps. At this burn rate I’d expect the old one to be sitting around 130 position.

I don’t know how I feel about the upper end accuracy of the new gauge, it was towards the end of the temp range and I didn’t feel I was running the stove that hard. I IR’ed the part of the stove right above the cat and it was a bit under 600 degrees. The beginning seems spot on which is what matters the most for catalyst engagement.

Thats exactly what I was saying about my new gauge also, it appears to read high with a small fire

I’m gonna contact the co to see how they feel about it. Will flow up here when a response is received.

I tried out my new Condor last night for the first time. The gauge was pinned as far as possible showing the cat was way over 1600 degrees. I put in the old one and my older BK one. Both old gauges showed about the same temp around 1000. The fire was small so I know for fact the cat wasnt near that hot. If I knew of a digital probe to use for the cat temp, Id buy one in a second
Reaper what model condar thermometer does your boxer take?
