But still if you had the money to pay. They brought it to you. So by definition thats not a shortage.

Not necessarily. Some suppliers ran out of propane and had none do deliver to customers, even if they had the money to pay for it. Many suppliers who did have propane to deliver to customers were rationing. We were only allowed to get 200 gallons in our 500 gallon tank, and we almost ran out because it took longer than usual to get our delivery. That's when we decided we needed an alternative heat source and put in a wood stove.

However, there really was not a shortage of propane. The shortage was in logistics. There was plenty of propane, it just wasn't where it was needed and there was limited transportation available to get it where it was needed.

Thanks you. You said what i was trying to. My brother in law, in south bend ID, said the dealer there ran out. But not because he couldnt get any. Because the were making them buy a semi tanker full at a time and pay cash on delivery. He refused to pay the inflated price.
