I have oak, maple, ash, on my property, but cedar has got me more than all the others combined. Even it's little thin branches are hard as nails. It branches don't rip off, they need to be cut off. And don't ever sideswipe a broken off branch at waist level, it'll cut you in half.
 
Yeah, but it makes nice kindling and smell great when you cut it.
