Baffle has a lifetime warranty correct? I don’t think hot but controlled fires would damage it in this amount of time. If it’s like the F400 it is a two piece gasketed system. I’d keep an eye on it.

Just updating here...

Still working with the dealer with what can be done. They are an amish retailer so there is definitely a communication barrier but they are my mediator right now.

I'm getting conflicting info from them. What it sounds like for sure is Jotul is warranting the control valve, paint and install but they are still deciding on the secondary air baffle/turbolator.

I was advised today that these parts won't ship until March and that seems pretty delayed and extreme. I expressed this disappointment to my seller and they mentioned potentially taking these parts out of the floor model they have for me. I like this option and I hope they provide this.

The stove is definitely controllable with the boost air closed. It was milder a few days early this week so I removed it. Did just fine but it cooled off yesterday and I kept the boost air open. This had the temp climb again to 775° so I covered the boost air and then another port to tame it which dropped quickly. I was surprised because I loaded on a very small coal bed from overnight and had air closed all the way in 30 minutes but it was innthe low teens....

So, I will just keep the boost air covered because I have great control when I do. It just seems weird that I need this plugged when my chimney is only 14ft. Also, still seems the right side is burning significantly warmer them the left but I may be reading into that.

Overall, im pleased with the soves heat output. I got 4 hours of flames this morning so that was pretty cool too. The coal bed from an overnight is pretty small so that has been a downside. I was able to get a good coal bed over 12 hours with the truenorth but that seems doubtful with the f55.

Really hoping jotul or my dealer make right on this defective part but its taking awhile so I have my concerns....

Would the store consider exchanging their floor model with your stove? That would allow them to test and report to Jotul from within their shop.

I like this approach and tried but got shot down.

They called me later today and stated jotul is warranting the air manifold too. I'm pretty satisfied with this as long as it happens. They are taking it out of the display stove and my installer should get it next by Friday. So that's better then march

Need to correct my coal assessment too. Hit the slopes/hills tonight of NE Ohio... lol... with my family so did not have a fire this afternoon. I banked the coals from my morning fire and pulled them out of the ash when I got home around 9:00 and they were still glowing. So, coals from 6:45 AM to 9:00 PM is pretty decent. The wood did not take right off and probably should have used more kindling but i was adjusting the air in 15 minutes... not terrible!

Sounds like they are addressing the issues. Solid customer service. I had a great EW load last night. It was so much more controllable than any N/S load has been. Cruised at nice lazy secondaries for well over an hour. With air not fully closed. Had I been sitting right next to it I could have probably kept that low burn rate. It crept up to a nice medium. Then I closed it down and went to bed. It was mix of pine and oak and dogwood.

I haven't done an E/W burn this year due to the mild weather. We have a cold stretch happening this week, so I'll give it a shot. Our boost air port is blocked and I am curious if it will beat our normal 10-12hr burn.

They came today and replaced the manifold and air control valve. A little early then expected so i was pleased with that. Both these parts were from the display model because Jotul is not shipping them until the end of March. I checked the new control valve for bowing before they put it in and this one was slightly bowed too (pic attached) obviously not as bad as the first but sill a slight bowing. I tried straightening this one like the other and it straightened out pretty good. I had the installer put that one in but I asked the shop to let me know when the other is in so they can see if that one is straight.

I find it bizarre that 2 out 2 stoves have a bent vavle. I'm wondering if this is a consistent issue with these stoves. It seems when they weld the stop on the valve its causing the valve to bow.

Pretty pleased with how everything turned out. I did not have them paint it yet and asked if they can come back when its warmer and im not burning.

Haven't really tried it out yet since it mild. Had a small fire but that's it. I have the boost air open again so we'll see how that goes. Gonna cool down thus weekend so that will be a good test

Did they burn the display model at the shop? Maybe the heat from the fire is causing this to bow?
