I recently inherited a Metal MDR Inc XE 1400. Have had a heck of a time finding information about this stove, finally found documentation about SBI acquiring MDR in 2005. Contacted SBI and they have been kind enough to dig up some old info on the stove, manual and sales flyer. Questions...1) any problems known with these stoves? 2) Is there any way of getting parts for it...It is a 2002. 3) being a newbie maybe I simply did not dig deep enough but would anyone be interested in having the attachments to add info about this stove to the site? Thanks all.

Have not heard of this stove. Is this what it looks like? If so it seems pretty conventional.

Is it still sold? Maybe this dealer can help: http://www3.telus.net/public/abfire/mdr.htm

For forum guidelines on posting pictures etc. Look at the thread in yellow at the top of this the tips and suggestions forum: https://www.hearth.com/talk/forums/new-forum-hints-and-your-questions-suggestions.9/

that seems identical, It does seem like a cookie cutter stove, SBI/Drolet gave me info showing that it was produced until 2005 and then MDR Inc (which was its own company) was acquired by SBI and the XE 1400 was incorporated in to their Flame line for a couple of years, it is no longer produced. They however have not given me any more information about parts being available just pointed me to an online parts store that doesn't recognize the model.
