True if you have the plastic peaked at the center, if flat not so much
 
a little less than half of my wood is stacked and raised 10 or so inches above gravel. I tarp my wood and the gravel underneath the stacks hardly gets wet. Ideally I'd have it all staked this way due to how well the ground drains but I'd have no where to walk within that area.

That's the beauty of the corrugated covering. Most of my stacks are not peaked. They drain fine with minimal slope, about 2" over 12 feet is more than enough to collect the water and send it away from your stack.
