hi, my house was built in 1993 but the gas logs were purchased by the previous owners in 1996. i need some info on the martin sa36. I'm trying to decide if the fireplace is wood burning or not and if the gas could be removed and convert it back to wood burning. I have searced far and wide for info on this fireplace with no real results. anyone here know anything about this?

The SA36 is a wood burning fireplace if properly installed. Not much of one but it is wood burning.
by "not much of one" do you mean small or do you mean unsafe? i need a honest response don't worry about offending me.

since it is woodburning, i would like to get it inspected. would I call a chimney sweep for that?

They are safe for wood. It is just a small fire box so not much heat .I am not sure where you would you would find a manual.
