Neighbor has burned the house down

Didn't have firelighters. Decided to use gasoline. Open container was by the stove when he lit it. House is a ruin. Insurance not going to pay as he started the fire and there is no cover for having/storing accelerants in the house.

Very sad to hear.

Many are looking to alternative heat with present energy costs. Many more will hop on this wagon.
Let this be a valuable lesson to newcomers heating with wood. NEVER use accelerants to start your WS ..... or even an OWB.

I'm afraid we may be hearing similar stories, and even worse, from all over Europe and the US as folks get desperate trying to heat their homes.

They are very very lucky it didn't turn out worse. Gas is explosive and not to be played around with near fire.
