I have a nice elderly neighbor lady who has a heavily treed yard. Every so often, a tree will fall and she's happy to have me clean up "the mess."
The other day, she calls to say a big branch fell. It's a little one, but I notice 2 decent-sized standing dead trees in her yard. I mention them and she says "yes, please take them down!"
Here are the rounds from those trees:
My log splitter assistant and I wasted no time busting up those rounds!
Still have to stack them up, but it felt good to make some firewood with just a bit of sweat equity.
Not sure of the species of wood, but I suspect one of them was oak--my little swisher splitter really struggled splitting those rounds.....
