Active since 1995, Hearth.com is THE place on the internet for free information and advice about wood stoves, pellet stoves and other energy saving equipment.
We strive to provide opinions, articles, discussions and history related to Hearth Products and in a more general sense, energy issues.
We promote the EFFICIENT, RESPONSIBLE, CLEAN and SAFE use of all fuels, whether renewable or fossil.
The entire wood stove "hearth" including the wood nook was purpose built in the late eighties and was part of the original architects design to heat the home. The hearth is about 14 feet wide, 4 feet thick, roughly 18 feet high inside the home, and the large wood nook holds about 6 to 7 large wheelbarrows full of wood stacked two rows deep. Roughly two hundred or more medium to large splits.
