After all my talk about modifying an antique parlor stove, I'm seriously thinking about making a 180* degree turn and buying a rather sleek looking modern stove... the PE Fusion... in black. Maybe later this season, maybe next.

Does anyone here own one or have comments about their performance?

Thanks in advance...

I don't know anything about them or their performance. Not to hurt your feelings, most people think they are not attractive. Maybe it's just the different look that turns people off.

I could have gotten a very good deal on one earlier this year when I was stove shopping. The stove store I called said they had a floor model for $900.00. The guy on the phone basically said they could not get rid of it. The Fusion was too big for my little house, so I never entertained the idea of buying it.

Anyway, my point is, I don't think that the stove is a big seller. If there are stove shops in your area that have them for sale, they may still be around by the end of the season at a marked down price.

I have had the PE Fusion for 2 years now. I agree with you that is looks great. It was the only stove my wife would allow in the house and it performs excellent. I live in Canada and use it it heat my house. I have a 1600 sq foot home and it does a good job of keeping us warm.

That's quite a turnaround....parlour stove to a P.E. Fusion.I like the modern look personally, and if I bought one in stainless, it'd match my other appliances.I say buy it...that's a great price for a Fusion, and it's built from the proven Super-series firebox too.Send us pics of yer new toy when you get it home.Enjoy.

I guess the styling argument becomes very much a matter of 'to each his own'...

I happen to like the looks of the Fusion much better than all the latter day look-alikes, gold trimmed doors and ersatz antique designs.

This is a bad pic, but for what it's worth...

Glad to hear the performance gets a nod... I'll be trying to heat a good deal less square footage, too... though poorly insulated.

Thanks.

Not to say everything they make is good, but it's a Pacific Energy Stove, which has pretty much gotten good marks from all their owners on this site...................me being one of them.

What are going to do with the old stove?

Todd:

I'm uncertain whether I'm going to spring for the Fusion yet, and doubtful that I'll let the Round Oak go anytime soon.

I say point yourself to some local estate auctions up there in NW WI next spring. I bet you can find any number of interesting stoves to play with...

I kind of wish I'd made a similar auction habit years ago.

I'm going to have to get back into this 'game' somehow.
