So, the PE's door glass cracked, as posted here

https://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/well-cross-another-off-of-my-firsts-list-pe-door-glass.175684/

I have the new glass (Highly recommened Onedaydoorglass.com !!). Door is off the insert, and I'm ready to rumble. I see the 4 clips, 2 each on the left & right.

My question ... once I lube the clips, HTH do I get them off / out, and then replace the glass???

On the bk, to remove the clips you have to remove the thick door gasket to get to the clip retaining nuts.

The T6 has a completely different door and gasketing so I can't compare. If no one pipes up I will go next door and ask to take a look at my neighbor's Spectrum to see how the glass is held in.

If it's like the Summit the clips are just under the gasket. Run your finger along the gasket, pressing down and you should be able to feel them. Did you get a glass gasket also? The old one will likely need replacing.

I have a new gasket, bought it 2 years ago as back up, after the runaway stove / sagging gasket experience ;)

It looks like the clips or their covers at least, are visible on the door.

The doggies can stay on my thread :p

You just jogged my memory. There are nuts under the gasket. I remember from changing the gasket the last time.

Thank you :)

There is one screw in each clip, which is under the door gasket. The door gasket doesn't necessarily have to come off, you can push it out of the way enough to unscrew the screws and slip the clip our from under. If the door gasket lets loose, just pump a little silicone caulk under it and set it back in place (after window & window gasket are in place & clips screwed back down), set door in place and latch on stove, let the silicone set for 24 hrs, and good to go.

Here are some photos from when I replacement my door glass. Yours is the same set up. With & without door glass removed. Done it both ways.

Here is what happens to old glass gaskets. The glass cuts through it.
Now you know I have pics of just about everything on these stoves...

One last note, I didn't need any lube to get it apart. Be careful where you spray that shitsky, lube don't make for a good adhering surface.

Thank you, @Hogswildz !!! I kinda figured you would be my savior here !!!

If it has to do with a PE, you know I got you. I've done just about everything on these GD stoves. I enjoy it too! Hugz

I believe one part of the glass gasket has peel off tape with adhesive under it, this helps set one side to the glass. Make sure you take your time and center the gasket to it is fairly equal on both sides of the glass. If should come with a crease in the middle to help determine the center of the gasket to help align it on both sides of the glass.

Your door gasket looks to be in great shape. It does look like the top is barely getting any knife edge imprint though, unless the photo is deceiving?

Onedayglass is the same place I used, best pricing, great product, and fast delivery. Some of the glass has a coating on one side, check if yours does or not, and make sure you put the right side out/in.
