Lately, instead of hauling rounds to the shed, then splitting and stacking them, I have been taking the maul out to the woods and splitting out there. Much more peaceful in the woods, and splitting is a nice break from felling and cutting. More variety, and it lets the lower back recover while I work the shoulders a little. Plus, then the hauling is the last big chore, rather than hauling wood to the shed thinking that I still have to split it all yet.
