Feeling the Heat

3* outside, 75* inside. 72* swing on wood heat alone. This is in our kitchen, one room removed from stove room. Stove room is noticeably warmer.
I know some of you have colder temps with warmer houses!

I try not to exceed 73F inside. I simply don't care for it. That said, I have successfully heated my home with a temp differential of 99 degrees (72 inside - with a neg 27F outside).

This past weekend, I hit a 78 degree delta (-8 outside, 70 inside). I was running hot enough that I didn't even have to open up the air to get my secondaries burning after a re-load, but 9 ft ceilings and an open floor plan suck the heat out of the living room pretty quickly.

The room with the stove has been well over 90 with temps well below -10. Way to hot just one of those things the wife wasn't paying attention to stove and inside temp. She said it felt comfortable, poor dogs panting two rooms away. Like house around 73 to 76 after that to warm.

Mobile picture device charging so I cannot get a picture but 70 degrees inside, 15 degrees outside. Wifey was gone to a meeting and I was at work. The fire went to coals for several hours...was 64 when we rebuilt the fire at 10:30. The Buck is doing a fine job...wife is toasty & resting comfortably. The Buck is doing it's job, quite well I might add.

My smoke dragon kept the main living areas between 75 and 78 all weekend with the winchills hitting 37 below outside. I watched every playoff team I wanted to win lose their games...but I did it in a t-shirt. :/

I did it in shorts. Haha. There is NOTHING like wood heat.

. . . and I did it buck naked. Oh, sorry about the visual image. I thought we were trying to one up each other. Of course I kid . . . I don't want to be responsible for anyone's visual imagery and imagination leading them to a trip to the nut house . . . the truth is I only watched two playoff games buck naked. ;) :)

OK . . . for real . . . two play-off games and I was in my underwear . . . specifically my Going to Church on Sunday boxers, not my 1987 vintage Spiderman Underoos.

I thought I'd have a record at 93...no so among this crowd.

I would rather you have it. -27 bites. I don't remember if it was last year or the year before, but I posted pics of the thermo on my jeep on the way into work. I had about 4 days in a row with a low of -27. (house thermo confirmed accuracy).

That's how I watch women's beach volleyball.

I just don't like sitting around in a short sleeve shirt in the winter. I need my flannel, therefore I try to keep it at 70. I've gone to peoples houses that have a family room at 78 or so with 10 people in there. I'm ready to pass out.

Not the biggest difference, but this was last night.

I wish I had some pictures of this time from last year. I had about 88 in the living room with -10 outside. CT this year has been very mild.
