checked my chimeny outside and found this in the photos the cap had a taste of creosote but the inside the pipe looks ok right?this is after about 3 fourths a cord

I would run a brush through that, but it's not bad at all. Very little if any creosote in the flue photo. A few whacks with a wire brush will clean that cap right up.

If you don't have a brush or a sooteater, they're not expensive, and it's nice to be able to sweep the flue whenever you get the chance.

I'm about to get a brush and change out my single wall with a telescope pipe for easier cleaning
