I belive it.

I have dents in mine in front of the garage from where I had a set of sawhorses and my lawn tractors deck (think is maybe 80lbs if that). The sawhorses sunk down about 1/4". Where the cars get parked it dents in too.

Had I known how bad asphalt sucks I would have done the driveway in concrete instead.

I have a old grain truck that was full of roofing that I left sit on black top for a couple of days. When I moved it there were depressions where the tires were. That was probably a lot more weight than a stack of wood though.
 
I have some wood stacked on concrete, and the bottom splits tend to get a bit soggy. I would stack on something like pallets to keep it drier.
