I am think-in hickory.;?
 
The bark looks like elm but it looks like it split awfully easy for elm.

I was gonna guess bitternut hickory but i dont know if you have them in Canada

I’m not sure few people say hickory not exactly sure it’s been cut and split for a year and still around 40% moisture

That's makes Hickory even a stronger bet. Don't see much here but I would even plan on burning any until it has been c/s/s for 2 years!

A good portion of Ontario is south of where I'm at here in Michigan ;)
