+ 1 for swamp chestnut oak (Q. michauxii).
nice fall color

White Oak(Swamp Chestnut Oak is a W. Oak)

I don’t know if this is the same everywhere but when we say white oak in my area we are referring mostly to Quercia alba. The leaf is very different.

In the hardwood lumber industry, there are two kinds of Oak, Red and White. This Chestnut Oak would go in the White pile... There are something like 56 subspecies of Red Oaks and 38 of White.
