Burning my VC stove with a new cat and a temp probe is like walking a fine line. If I satisfy the cat I don't get enough heat in the house, hard to get near 450 STT with the cat engaged in the first hours of a burn. Then it's a fine line when keeping the cat from taking off and keeping the stove from puffing with the air cut back especially in milder temp nights with less draft
