Well, had my self all set up for the overnight and then slept through the reload last night and had the heat off. So had to get up at 345 this morning to turn the boiler back on. Then I woke up this morning not feeling my best. Went back to bed and didn’t load the stove. Got up around 1030 and then felt a little better so I started it back ip. Mostly precious hickory and a couple splits of ash this morning.

I think my body has finally said enough is enough and I needed to rest. Been doing far too much lately with minimal sleep.

Yup got to sleep. No better place than in front of the stove.

oh! That sounds great! What did you do? Add a damper?
@Burnin Since 1991 beat me to it. I've been chasing this thing for almost two years now trying to get a fire that will comfortably heat our small house without turning into a sauna. I think I'm finally dialing it in now; it's nice to see proper secondary firing and blue flames instead of a small blast furnace :)

Now on to the next project: split and stack 6 cords of birch for seasoning!

I know the feeling. It's the story of most of my life though. I'm used to it.
I'm over the hill but climbing still to reach the summit. LOL

Got home an hour ago. Had to tend the dragon. Good part is there were few glowing coals so I removed a bunch of collective ash. Her nephew was home all day. Didn't do a damn thing but eat my food out of the fridge or maybe she stole it and brought to work for lunch. My money's on the nephew.

Dragon's eating cherry R & W oak, couple red maple, and one nice split of honey locust.

I added two spruce and two pine around noon, and a few oak thin 10" pieces now.

Ah, ok…I have the opposite situation
A lot of house! And a small stove

I put in some big old chunky monkeys of red+white oak and some copper beech. I had a handful of spruce coals from this morning to light this load off. Pieces are kinda twisty and knotty, not very conducive to a nice full box but it will hold very well for tonight into tomorrow morning. Mid 20s will be the temp overnight so not that bad.

35 outside, 71 upstairs. May touch on 33 early morning but goes up from there to 39.
Mostly pitch pine, and two slabs of oak left and right, and a few oak left over kindling pieces from a project on top.

Started smoking well before I was done. Flue probe 300. No smoke into the room; everything got sucked in.
Some here say a BK will leave some smoke into the room. But for me that's not the case.

Also, pitch pine. Second pic shows the top left one covered in boiling pitch, the white stuff. All of them are but it's best visible top left.

Yesterday's 9 pm load of pine + 2 oak slabs is about done after 17.5 hrs. Note the clean glass despite having 2.9 cu ft of pitch pine take 17.5 hrs...

Given that it's later than I thought it would be, and there a dip in temps around 6 pm, I'm keeping it going until later tonight when it will be mini split time.

RealFeel is -6C / 23F

We had thought yesterday’s 2” of snow would have melted, but no, it stays and more expected overnight

So I lit up the Panadero around 1500
And then took down the Christmas tree (which was a long, arduous task)

1 chestnut/ 1 beech
Elm/oak/holly/hazel/poplar/apple

I just now put in a couple white oak splits

Last nights coals are starting tonight’s fire. This is a good load of oak hickory and beech. Temps will be steady mid 30s for the next 24 hours I believe so this should handle it.

Had a load of cut offs for a little boost in heat and to keep the fire going until now. Loaded with Mostly ash tonight, might be a small split of hard maple and a small split of beech. Low 30s/upper 20s tonight.
