I have the regency F2400 and I'm trying to find the right place to get my temp readings from. I see a difference if I move it up or down on my first single wall pipe.
The gauge I purchased is magnetic and it says to place it 18" from the top of the stove. Now I know EPA stoves and regular stoves are different and from what I understand my flu temps will be lower being a EPA stove. So do I change the location of my temp gauge ? I want to start monitoring temps and try different woods but I want it to be as accurate as I can be.
I don't see crap in the manual about temp area's or I'm blind "this is sometimes possible"
Any EPA guru's here ? Or is there a standard location ?
The temp gauge has one line of directions. "place 18" from top of stove" WOW, crazy detail

The stove seems to perform well, good secondary burn and the new pipe made all the difference. The glass is always clean.
