All,
I wanted to share with you the incredible generosity of a member on this forum. This person (who wishes to remain anonymous) saw a post I made talking about how I really wanted to get the Timberline sharpener, I was on the fence due to the cost, but had made up my mind I wanted to get this sharpener. I have always had to take my chains to the dealer (I can't hand file for anything!)
The amazing part is, I ruined my newly sharpened chains on Saturday on a nail in a tree I was bucking, and I was debating all day what I should do about buying this. I woke up on Sunday to a totally unprompted message by this member saying that they had thought about it, and wanted to give me their Timberline sharpener as a random act of generosity. All this person asked was that I "pass it on" when I get the opportunity.
I got to know this person through PM's, and I have to say, we have some incredible members on this forum! The amount of knowledge and generosity, and the willingness to share that knowledge on this forum is incredible.
I was thrilled to death to get the package today (they even went out of their way to get it shipped asap) and I CANT WAIT to try it! I am just awaiting my 3/16" carbide bit to come which I ordered yesterday, and then I will be getting to sharpening!
I will post an update to this just as soon as I try it out, but I wanted to share this amazing act of generosity with you all now. Seriously, I am still taken aback, this forum is by far the best I have ever joined.
Thanks to this anonymous member, and thanks to everyone else for the knowledge you continue to share with me!
