Hi everyone (fairly new to this website) but very familiar with breckwell stoves because I’ve had one over the years. Just recently purchased my second breckwell p2000i insert (From a friend) and for some reason it runs differently than my current p2000i? For some reason I can’t use any heat levels besides level 5? And everytime i press the “heat level advance” button the red illumination goes completely away (but continues to run and feed pellets and at this point no number are Illuminated on the heat level side) and once I press the button again, it illuminates back on level 5. Before I spend money on a new control board is there something that I’m missing here? Can there be an adjustment made on the back or anything? Not sure why it’s stuck in level 5. (Fuse is fine)

More than likely a bad tactile switch thats corroded inside and it stuck on 5. I have replaced a lot of them on Breckwell’s

the push buttons under the face plate are tactile switches, im guessing your heat level advance button

well without it on my bench to test im just giving you an experienced guess that the switch is bad. Being an electronic device and not knowing its history any number of devices could be bad. I have done 3 Breckwell’s this season that all 5 on the boards were corroded from sitting in damp basements. I posted the part number from digikey in my first photo

I see, other symptoms I’ve been having is the room blower won’t kick on after the unit warms up (on the start up process) I would have to force start the blower wheel and it’ll stay on... not enough voltage going to the blower? I should just replace the whole board?

Have you tested the voltage to the blower? Take an old lamp cord and hook it directly to the blower and see if it starts and runs for 30 min without shutting off on its own. If it works good then check the board voltage that goes to the blower if I remember correctly on high it will be 120vac on low it will be 89-90vac.

If both those tests are good, (hooking 120v to blower to see if it runs) and checking voltage at board (120v) then replace the board?

If the board does not put out a minimum 89vac then yes you Probably need a board
