Probably shouldn't have ever quit...but the king is up and burning again for the week. It'll be in the 30's tonight and I might as well run a few more loads through him. Feels nice after a few weeks off!

We keep thinking we're done too but then it gets cool/cold at night and the morning fire burns again !
But today it's in the 80's and the humidity around 19%. Dry, wood piles, dry! (those low humidity readings nuke dry btw)

We could make it through a day of low 60s/low 40s but I don't think we can hold room temp for four consecutive days of that.
Same here. After a few days I'll need some heat. I actually look forward to it!

I took last night off but the fire is warming me nicely tonight! My wife was impressed I broke the habit yesterday but she noticed I was under a blanket while watching tv. No blanket tonight!! Last week we had snow, frost most mornings still but the end is near for us, with highs today of 16c! Trees are starting to bud.

Feeling the Heat
Never stopped. Here in Michiganis frigid U.P., we have ice on the lake, high 20s to low 30's at night and 40's during the day. We have hit a few high days of 50ish weather, but still cool at night. Quite unusual for this time of year. I am referring to the the Sirocco as my room heater. Keeping it running at very low temps around the clock. I hope it warms up soon. Just hitting the 8 face cord for the year mark to keep 2000 sq ft toasty all winter. Love the stove. Brought the saws out Sunday and started to C/S/S for next year. Cutting up some downed pine because its there.
Coldest "spring" here in many years. Three weeks ago, awoke to read +2 F. on the Davis.
This week, four days of snow, probably 16" or so, every a.m. it's in the low 20s. Forecast for last night on Weatherbug was for 15 F. but it remained 20 F.
Screams up to mid-40s on the rare sunny day.
Some fools planted squash and tomatoes and etc. a few weeks back. [Not me.]
I purchased a Keystone last November, visited the factory in February and got hyped up to install the thing. Still sitting in the center of the room on a furniture dolly, waiting for a long-enough spell to be willing to take down the old stove and spend a week or so building a new hearth and getting the new pipe all set. Guess I'll be installing this coming summer. Maybe.

I don't mind lighting the stove a couple more times.I actually look forward to it!
And I'm working in the woods, so maybe the cool weather will slow down the ticks and black flies a bit. The poison ivy is already waist-high, so no help there. 
We are burning again also, too many days with highs in the lower 40's and lows in the 30's with cloudy rainy drizzly days for over a week.
Wouldn't be too bad if that big bright thing in the sky would appear once again and allow the thermals to warm the house during the day.

Talked to my mom who lives near balmy Chequamegon bay and she heard that the ice on Superior may not totally melt this year. If that is the case forget about seeing summer this year.

That would be something! In the Rockies even at high elevations our lakes thaw for a bit. Im sure some how some one would blame it on global warming!
Lake ice will all melt just it might take until June to get it all gone, mostly chunks and slivers at this point, but similar to 79 as far as the big lakes icing over. What that means as far as summer temps goes is up for speculation. With the big lakes on the cool side and hot stuff up from down south could be a wild ride this summer.
That's my fear. If we get a cold summer, like we got a cold winter, ain't gonna be too good for drying wood...and I'm under the gun again to get enough dry wood for two of my SILs.
When I lived in Ashland even in the heat of summer jumping into the bay meant for a cold shock especially if one of those cold currents came through. A NE wind meant for a very cool wind. If you ever wanted to cool down I would just walk to the end of the Oredock and throw a line in. Could be 90

As of yesterday Lake Superior still had ~14% ice floating around. It is expect to linger until sometime in June. Cold water is nature's airconditioning. It can be 85 deg in Seattle and will be 70F at our house as long as the winds are from the north. A big body of 50F water will do that.

It frosted last night... got to like 31.
No way in hell i was firing up the stove again. I just cleaned it out for the summer. We just pulled out the heating blanket for a night... hopefully just 1 night.

At 41F I would be burning, even if just a short fire for the night. At 31F I would have the stove stoked.

Not burning this morning as it was still 73 downstairs from last night's fire when I awoke. Will definitely have a fire this evening, as it should get down to around 30. I'm really happy with how my NC-30 is handling this spring shoulder season, especially considering my short chimney.
I'm planning to shut the stove down June 1 for a full sweep/clean and to replace my stove pipe with double wall to try to help my draft that little bit more for next season.
