I have while doing some gasket replacement, I removed the heat shield from the back of my 2019 VC Encore 2040 CAT-C and noticed a crack in the cast iron on the back. I'm attaching a few photos. This seems like something that would require a tear down and rebuild to replace the back. I am a handy DIYer, but I think that might be beyond my capabilities, especially given all the other stuff needed around my house. Looking to hear what you all would do if you saw this on your stove. Local wood stove shop guy said that it will get bigger over time, but I could fill it with stove cement and run it right now until I could have the back replaced. I've been using this stove for 6 years as my primary heat source, and obviously this is a bad time of year to need major work on the stove.
