I have had an extremely busy spring summer. Seems like just yesterday I was finishing up bottling syrup which those of you who sugar know 24 hours in a day in not ENOUGH! Well one thing led to another and before I knew my wife and I were planning an open house and sending our daughter off to college (note to self CHANGE LOCKS ON HOUSE).
I've been meaning to log on to Hearth for sometime but just the other day my neighbor called who lost a HUGE sugar maple from the storms we had in July and wantView attachment 72702 ed me over with the stihl. I'm probably a good 7 years ahead on wood but hey I thought " what would my good friends on hearth do?" Yep, that maples mine. Still have one more truck/trailer load to bring home.
I do apoligize to all the great members on hearth for being out of touch for so long. I do have a couple of questions tho?
1. Does Backwoods Savage still split vertical and use a red milk crate?
2. Is zap stacking all his wood within 1/8" of being level/plumb/ and all exactly the same length?
Here's a pic of some of the sugar maple, gonna split when temps cool down.
Edit....gonna take some time to figure out how to post pics!
