Hi guys. I'm new to the wood burning world and just recently had a quadra fire 3100i insert installed in our home. I see everyone talking about stove temps but I'm not sure where to get them from. Should I be using a thermometer on the shelf are on top, side or front? Is there a way to measure flu temps with an insert?

Thanks for the help

With an IR gun through the small space above the stove and surround - if you can see the flue pipe
