Anyone know where a guy could get some of this stuff for my stove? I did a seach on the web and came up with mostly boating supplies, suppose that is the same stuff? The Isen glass on my stove is verty thin almost like a thin gauge plastic.

You might have better luck using the more modern term 'mica' If it is a flat sheet, you might want to replace it with modern transparent ceramic 'glass' aka 'neoceram' or 'pyroceram'.

Are you restoring an antique stove? The ising glass that was used in stoves many many decades ago
is composed of muscovite mica, a translucent mineral that peels apart easily in sheets. Mica in general
has excellent insulation properties and is used as a dielectric in certain types of capacitors. I don't know
if its in use much for stoves these days, except for restoration work.

This type of ising glass is not to be confused, of course, with the other type, which is composed of
dried and ground up fish bladders. Its used as a clarifying agent in making beer and wine.

I've also heard, but not confirmed, that mica is available on eBay. Good luck! Rick
