Can anything be done to lower the the particulate levels in older stoves? I have a Jotul 602C and an older Kent Tile that do not meet Washington State requirements and I hate to get rid of them. I am needing to re-instal a stove and the price of a new stove is so high. Any ideas?

I hear you. Both are great stoves. The best thing you can do is be sure the wood being burned is dry and well seasoned. Don't let the fire smolder. The 602 burns cleanest with a hot fire, but it is not a clean burner. Read Precaud's extensive posting on the Kent Tile Fire for some good tips.
