I bought a house and it came with a Harman Pellet Pro II. It has been working great for me for the past 2 years as a secondary heat source. This year I went down to get it fired up, plugged it in and the fuse blew instantly. Put a new fuse it and it ran for probably about 5-10 minutes and then blew again. Put another fuse in and it blew instantly. Bypassed the fuse with a piece of wire and it ran fine but the auger motor never kicked on, the light for it came on but the actual motor did nothing. Took the motor off and it was not ceased. Did it just short out? Is there a bigger issue that I am not thinking of? Any help would be appreciated.

If you plug it in, I know on my P43 it pulses the combustion blower. The combustion blower may be bad. If the feed motor light came on, but the motor did not turn, that board output triac might be fried open, or bad connections (if the motor bench tests OK)
Edit - when it starts up it may pulse both the room and combustion blower.
If you can somehow get to test mode it will run all 3 motors.

The combustion blower was working. I had my electrician at work bench test the motor today bc it was not ceased and it sparked and started smoking. So if it wasn’t fried before it definitely is now. I’m going to get a new motor and try that. And am also going to check and clean all of the wiring, and see if I can tell if anything on the board is fried or not.

Yes, bench testing on a 15amp circuit breaker will either prove it's good, or catch it on fire. That is why pellets stoves have a 5A fuse. Sometimes people try that with the blowers/auger motors still installed. It's OK if you only put the power on for 2 seconds I guess. I ask people to make a test cord with a fuse to be safe.
