need help/ info connecting stove

Plan to open up the wall/remove the clay thimble tomorrow. What's the best way to remove this without messing up the clay liner inside, chisel and hammer?

I haven't opened the wall up yet, waiting on parts to come in. I got all the parts I should need, including the 2x clay liners i'm going to lower down with the refractory cement at the joints

I am going to cut a 7 3/4 x 7 3/4 hole on the outside for a cleanout door I ordered. How high up from the base should the bottom be?

Class A double wall 6" and a thimble from same company. thimble arriving a week or so later. Could you run the class A by itself and leave the wall open, with well more than the 2" clearances needed?

Another question, as for replacing the clay crock with the class A, what's the easiest way to increase the hole in the liner, i think the new pipe will be about 1/2 inch wider outside diameter

Seems to be putting the cart before the horse. If this is a conventional stud wall I made suggestions earlier, but at this point the wall construction is unknown.

If it is done right it should be safe. But it is a real pita to do correctly.
