need help/ info connecting stove

Plan to open up the wall/remove the clay thimble tomorrow. What's the best way to remove this without messing up the clay liner inside, chisel and hammer?
 
What did you find? Can you post a picture or two?
 
What was ordered for passing through the wall?
 
Another question, as for replacing the clay crock with the class A, what's the easiest way to increase the hole in the liner, i think the new pipe will be about 1/2 inch wider outside diameter
