New Stacking Area

In The Woods
Dropped two small pines (just to the left of the clothes line) so we have more room for our stacking area, we hope to get 10 face cord in this area.

Picture 100_1404 is before I started,100_1405 is after dropping the two pines,100_1407 is the cleanup left and 100_1408 was a pitch holding stump that almost won the battle and the last picture is the chips I'll use to level off some low spots.

Looks good Zap, good draining level land is a nice luxury.
 
What IS a "Face Cord" anyway? I honestly don't know what that means. I know what a "cord" is..........but.........

Face Cord = 4 feet high x 8 feet long x 16 inches wide. I cut mine 14.75 so I guess it's a zap's face cord. :zip:

Nice try with that fast one. I can tell that those splits above are exactly 14.81"... Who are you trying to fool?

Generally taken to mean what amounts to ~1/3 cord, so about 43 ft³. Lots of folks deal in face cords. Depends on local custom. It's certainly a more meaningful term than a "rick"...but then, my wife would tell you that pretty much everything is. %-P Rick
