My refractory access cover is split in two. 1. Can it be mended, for example with Rutland cement? 2. If not, is it important to replace it? 3. Does anybody have a good one, prefereably in the UK or Scandinavia? Many thanks.

You could try pinning it together and cementing, but it's quite fragile after years of use. Normally 13 yrs is getting to the time for a rebuild with the complete refractory engine.
I just had to order a new one for mine because I dropped it on the stove floor after cleaning out the ashes.
Normally, when it falls out onto the ashes it does not break, but falling in a freshly cleaned stove onto the grate it broke easily. A costly mistake.
I found a seller on eBay who makes them. I'm going to use the new one and see if I can repair the old one to keep as a backup.

Woodman's may have this part too. $70 if this is the part.
What I do when the access cover gets loose is put some gasket under it to tighten it up. It hasn't failed me yet.
I will keep that in mind as mine has always been very easy to knock loose. Thanks!
No problem I only need to do that after the parts get worn. I think I'll be good for the next couple years
