Sealing Appliance Connector

Hello,
The appliance connector doesn't fit very snug to the unit so I was going to use furnace cement to seal it. The unit is a Napoleon 1101. For people unfamiliar with this stove, the fan is located in the back of the unit… My concern with using furnace cement is, if I ever have to replace the fan on the unit, how hard is it going to be to disconnect the appliance connector after it's been sealed with furnace cement?

I guess I should state this also, I was going to use Rutland stove and gasket cement. The more I read about this product, it sounds like I might be able to break it free if I ever need to.

might be better to use an appliance adapter, furnace cement is just a temp fix/doesn't last long (and looks bad)

What's the difference between an appliance connector and an appliance adapter?

I will be using zip screws to attach the appliance connector in place…The main reason I wanted to use the cement was to get an air tight seal. It won't be exposed so I'm not too concerned what the joint looks like, although I won't be gooping it on….

I would use door gasket as the furnace cement doesn't last long, it gets hard and brittle and falls apart.

The cement won't stay. The stove and SS connector expand and contract at different rates and the cement just falls apart.

The new small hybrid from Lopi sends some self adhesive 1/8" gasket with the stove for this reason. It might be hard to find, but it works great! You could also buy some flat gasket and trim it down, I've done that before.
