I was going to get the TN20 for our 600sqft cabin in Dolores, CO. But I just saw an Intrepid Stove for sale on Craigslist for $775. What would be the better choice and why?
Intrepid? Not Intrepid II ? That could be the better choice as it loads from the top! Price is a little steep though, I'd want to pay closer to $500.00.
Intrepid II I might take a pass on. Can be expensive to fix and difficult to find anyone to do it.
TN20 for sure. It has a larger firebox for longer burntime, N/S loading and a quicker warm up. It's a simpler stove, with a better fireview and it'll be new.
Anyone know if a good place to purchase the TN20 online. I had one lined up for $899 plus shipping but they sold the last one today. The stores in Durango are asking $1349...which seems high.
Sounds like a captive market. Our local True Value had them for sale at a decent price a couple years ago. Maybe check around at the local hardware stores? Also, maybe contact Tom at www.chimneysweeponline.com and see if they can send you one?
