Lit her this morning, been burning some punky maple, off cuts and hemlock. 68 inside, 44 outside, STT 280 and air fully closed down.

Currently 25, forecast high of 30 today and down to 18 tonight. Second load of aspen and black ash is in. Cloudy today so no solar gains. Been sunny lately so been lots of cold starts in the evenings.

Full box tonight.😬had a little catching up to do with house temps after being out of town for a day. Cloudy and 40s today with some showers around. Oaks, maple and hickory cruising along nicely now.

We're still burning here, last night was a load of ash and ironwood, this morning it was a load of soft maple.

I haven't been keeping track of the temps except every so often I'll check the outside temp, 22 this morning.

I had a load of oak, sugar maple, hickory and spruce in last night around 830. Plenty left this am before work with full sun and 40 for temps today so I’ll let that burn out.

Well, we are having a little chill snap. Currently RealFeel is -3C / 26F outside; inside is around 16C/ 61F, so fire is still the most efficient heat inside

I’ve been making a cold start every evening since my last post

Well, we’ve had cold starts around dusk every evening this week…today feels frigid, but it ain’t…we just prefer to have free flame heat over costly, low efficiency electric

This evening there’s a bit of everything in

Elm, chestnut, white oak, cherry, hazel as the cold start

ran around all morning with the kiddos, relit the shop stove when I got in. Starting to warm up, 30 outside, 48 inside, STT 600, CAT 1380. Burning some ash and maple splits.

Last nights fire around 9pm. I loaded again before heading out for work this am but no pic.

I just broke up the remaining splits from my start and tossed on 2 huge maple splits and a piece of cherry.

31 outside, 71 inside, CAT at 1202 and ramping, stove air about an 1/8th open now.

Last night’s cold start, which is still going…I put some chestnuts on a bit too late, so now waiting to rake the coals into the center so I can get to bed

Just reloaded with some hickory, ash and maple. Probably one of the last firebox stuffs for the season.

29 outside, 71 inside, STT 370, CAT 838 and ramping. Going to get her settled in then turn the air a crack past full close.

Quick relight this morning, stove was cold with STT 130, but had enough coals to light off some Amazon paper and slash. Warming her up wit some hemlock and maple.

Below freezing again here like others have posted. Been using the stove regularly, 76º in the living room last night, that was a bit too warm. Don't know why it was hotter than usual, maybe I happened to use drier wood.

My neighbor gave me several pallets last week. I think they were from a pellet delivery. I've seen what appears to be stove smoke from his chimney, but no wood outside. At some point will cut those for kindling.

Another load of oak for the night. Might be the last one for a bit. We’ll see. I think might have the amount of fires left can be counted on 1 hand. But we shall see
