Well, the only evening I didn’t cold start the Délice over the past seven days was Sunday…and that was just from too much outside work which ran late.

Just lit up tonight, it isn’t cold, but so much better heat for free than elec after sundown.

Oak/ chestnut/ elm hazel and poplar

Righto! So, is it just me now? Anyway, just warming the place up at dusk.

Mostly elm chunks on top with chestnut/ oak base
Plenty of hazelnut, Holly, oak, apple, poplar

Nope, you're not alone. Still burning, just not posting as often. We have a nasty ice storm coming in tonight that's supposed to go all day tomorrow, Might need to fire up the generator...

With a high of 45 today and rain I just started a log cabin style spruce fire to take the chill off. I’ll probably do a similar fire tonight.

Upper 30s and rain. Not going to warm up today either. So back at it with some oak. Trickling down to what I have left in the house. Only 4-6 splits left, but have a bunch of cut offs. We’ll see if I feel like bringing more in depending on what the weather is over the next week or so.

It's 43º here in Conn., have a fire in the stove. First time in several days. Have today off as I typically have a 3 day work week, some work from home today. VPN is a wonderful thing.

Rain here too though - disappointed about that but still may work outside if it stops later. Have a lot of small branch size pieces worth cutting to size to burn, as well as cleaning up that area a bit. Some of the wood if sitting long enough ends up partially buried and wet.
21 degrees with an ice storm warning. Nice bed of coals with a load of aspen and black ash going.
Wow, still winter weather for you! Maybe your growing season hasn't started yet. Crocuses and other small greens have been up in the last week or so here.

Yeah, there's still frost in the ground here. 4" of mud on 4' of frost when it's warm and sunny. Today has a forecast high of 33, SE WI has a forecast high of 60. Northern WI is a whole different climate from Southern WI in spring and winter. We still have about a month of shoulder season, maybe even to the end of May...

Still burning here pretty consistently. Usually one or two loads per day depending on the weather. We had a mixed bag of ice, rain, sleet and snow yesterday with temps in the low 30’s. Not looking forward to an Ice storm warning for tonight. I’m just about out of my good hardwood and have a half cord of Aspen for the rest of Spring . I’ve gone through about 2.5 cords for this season so far.

It’s very wet here right now. I came in at noon for breakfast after another morning of tree rubbish collection from various downed trees because it’s time for the annual burn pile. When I came in, RealFeel was 1C, and rain just keeps getting thicker so I started a fire early.

Chestnut/ elm/oak/beech splits

I have a load of spruce and mixed hardwoods in for tonight. The house was starting to cool of as it got cloudy around 2pm and will be low 40s overnight.

We got home today from visiting my Mother and the house was down to 60°f.
I brought in a load of wood and started a fire to take off the chill.
I loaded mostly Shag bark Hickory and Oak for the over night burn.
Supposed to be about in the mid 40s tomorrow so I will let the fire go out and start a fire tomorrow night.

Got home about 9:30 from a weekend away. Cleaned out the ash and the glass and have a load of cherry and birch going after warming things up with some kindling. Currently 34 degrees and dropping. Will continue to drop all day tomorrow and have a low in the single digits tomorrow night.

lows in the 30s tonight so a cold start for the king with some spruce and a few small splits of hickory and oak.

Calm, clear & crisp 8 degrees this morning. Load of aspen and black ash as always. Upper 30's and sunny forecast so I probably will let it go out and cold start tonight.
Wow 8 degrees in April/Spring! Not nearly as cold here. but enough to look forward to a fire in the stove tonight. Not looking forward to 90+ degree weather in the summer.

We’re down to 38 at 8pm, should see a low of 22 tonight. I loaded up spruce, oak and hickory into the king.
