The way this winter went, I'm more worried about the bugs than the heat. Could be a nasty bug year.Got a feeling its going to be a hot one this year. As long as the beer supply holds out we will be OK.
I read some where that the ticks are going to be bad in the MA and NE this year since winter wasn't coldThe way this winter went, I'm more worried about the bugs than the heat. Could be a nasty bug year.
You're living the weather these BK's were built for, begreen. In your somewhat tighter house, you might get away with one load every second day. We've had 1-2 fires a day depending on sunshine or not. Today is gloomy and 44F so the homefire is burning. Spring is slow in coming this year to the northwest.
We're living in ideal heat pump weather once it gets over 50F. Much more efficient and cleaner. And no loading at all. You're living the weather these BK's were built for, begreen. In your somewhat tighter house, you might get away with one load every second day.
This is true! But they're so much less fun, and no one ever talks about enjoying a snifter of cognac with a movie, sitting by the heatpump on a cool evening in March. We're living in ideal heat pump weather once it gets over 50F. Much more efficient and cleaner. And no loading at all.

In spring I'm outside unless it's raining. The house warms up with sunshine pretty well and retains the warm. If I want a fire in the evening I light one. If not, no problem, we have a warm cat that is happy to snuggle. In these temps there probably wouldn't be a lightshow with a cat stove anyway so it's a zero sum gain for me.This is true! Not many fires in the forecast if any...there is always the wife factor...lolView attachment 196620
Those must be the dumbest deer in the whole country, perhaps only surpassed by the deer population of North Dakota. Don't they know that deer can survive in North Carolina, where the flowers are already blooming? We're supposed to get smeared again tonight. The deer are out looking for snacks before the walking gets difficult again.View attachment 196682
Yes, looks like another cold front coming down the middle of the country from Canada. They'll be waking up their stoves tonight.
