While on my Saturday morning errands today I came across an area where the utilities did some trimming. I believe I have white oak and sugar maple. I love these fi(broken image removed)(broken image removed)(broken image removed)(broken image removed)(broken image removed)nds, they add up.

white oak has rounded lobes. looks like a type of red oak to me
 
Nice, I woke up to the sound of chain saws last week and got a pretty good scrounge myself. I think I got Maple, still good.
 
Thanks Woody. I know pin oak by the bark but am still learning others.
