Jotul F3 CB Glass Air Leak

I recently replaced the door and glass gaskets on my Jotul F3 CB. The Dollar bill test works great on the door, but not on the glass. The glass is held by two clips, one on each side of the glass.

When I do the dollar bill test the glass is very tight on the sides, but it fails on the top an bottom of the glass in the center of the viewing area. Is this an area of concern? Could my glass be possibly warped or is the normal.

I was even wondering if the glass and door could have a slight curve and my glass is not facing the right direction.

I was also wondering the proper technique for securing the door gasket under the glass clip. The door gasket ends terminate under the glass clip. Do you criss-cross the gasket here? I noticed if you don't criss-cross them it looks like there could be a possible leak here. I was afraid if I did cross them, then the door would be hard to shut. I could not remember how it was before replacement.

Any help and wisdom is greatly appreciated.

I have yet to see PyroCeram warp. Are you sure you replaced the gasket
with the same size? Did you use a flat tape or round gasket?
If you used a round one, did you make sure not to stretch it?
I always replace glass gasket by starting at a lower middle &
the ending at that same location, not cutting it to length until
I know exactly where the end is at. NEVER double it up or
overlap it.

I definitely used the correct gasket on the glass. I am going to replace the gasket again as I have plenty and make sure I do not stretch it at all. I was amazed how easily i could make a peace of computer paper go through. All other gaskets are fine besides the glass one are fine. I did the match test and it seems no air is sucking in and there is no black on the glass. I think I may have put the gasket on too tight.

I found the way Jotul has the door gasket channel curve and end under a clip a bit strange. That is why i asked if Jotul owners overlap. It is different than other stoves I have owned.

Thank you for the response. Made me realize how important it is to not stretch the gasket at all.

Been heating with wood stoves for 40 years and I have never dollar bill checked a door glass gasket. The door and ashpan, yes, the glass nah. Anything it would leak is a fart in a hurricane. And yes one of my arsenal is an F3 CB that I completely rebuilt. Just not burning in anymore.

Bluefin- Do you believe your glass is leaking? Are you laying 1/4" gasket in the groove and putting the glass clips on and not over tightening? Its probably not leaking there. The 3 is a durable unit.

My F602 has its primary air intake as an ungasketed section of glass. A bad glass gasket can definitely be problematic.
