Just thought I would share in your joy to the start of another burning season.

For me, it's 35 degrees outside right now with possible snow flakes called for tonight; inside it's a nice and toasty 73 degrees with a few beers on ice and the dog snoozing away in his favorite seasonal spot.

We were in the low 40s this morining, I couldn't wait any longer for at least one burn.

Cleaned the chimney this morning(it was a crazy spring/summer with my mom recovering from major illness/surgery) and lit her off this evening. 34 outside and snowing.. 74 and toasty in the living room

I lit mine yesterday for the first time this season. And again this morning. I still need to sweep it though. LOL. I guess I should do it next week while it's warm. I was tired of my basement being 62.... Now I am sweating!!

I woke up to 57 in the house this morning so I turned the furnace on. I am not getting the stove going till I can run it all day. Wife is upset even my daughter but not yet, but it was a close call.

We burned last night for the first time this year. It was cold enough to freeze the water in the plant pots. After a few reloads and half way through the night we had the windows open. I remember waking and telling my wife to let the fire burn out. We do know how to run the stove in the shoulder season, but not last night. It is a pain in the butt, so I'm going to hold off a bit longer this year before I get into these hot burns and letting the stove burn out.

We've been burning for a few days now. First one was just a morning fire. Then another. Then an overnighter, then a few more. Today was the first full day of burning.

Had a decent fire at times this weekend. Having to relearn how to use a stove with good gaskets. Also think black cherry really just needs a lot of air to burn clean. At least we had some weather here this weekend that generated a good draft! Fun times ahead!

It's like riding a bike. I am so much better this year than last year. Last year being my rookie year with an insert and a stove as my primary heat source.

Had some small fires late last week. Yesterday morning got up at 6. Cold. Fired up both stoves and the lady was happy when she got up. Toasty, just the way she likes it.

F55's been burning 24/7 since Friday afternoon. 27 degrees here this morning. House is nice and toasty.

My good friend just installed the f55. What a beautiful stove. What are your thoughts on it? He's got 3000 sq. to heat. And his stove is on the right wall middle, of his house. Should he put another small stove in his kitchen, basically opposite side from where his stove is?

I've been burning on and off for the past 2 weeks, I finally lit the stove Friday after work for 24/7 burns, my dad and sister stopped by yesterday morning and they didn't want to leave the stove area because it was so warm, my dad was warming his hands by the fire telling me how cold his house was but in the same sentence it was to early for him to lite his stove, I just laughed saying you got to burn for comfort not by calendar

Running mine right now. Didn't really need it Friday night, but woke up Saturday morning to a 60 degree house. One load got it up to a comfortable temp and I let it burn out until Saturday night when I ran it all night. I was gonna light it before I went to bed and just let it burn out, but I wasn't sleeping well so I figured I would just throw more in since I was up. Once that burned out, I didn't run it at all yesterday until 9pm. 7 eco bricks brought up to temp then damped down managed to keep the house warm all through the 32 degree night. At 6 am the thermostat read 65 and while of course the fire was out, the stove itself was still as warm as a heating pad.

Ran the stove a few nights so far I'm learning and getting used to it. Got up Saturday morning and it was 65 in the house. Started up the stove and learned an important lesson from my wife not to burn a fire on house cleaning morning. The dog has claimed her new spot in the room. (broken image removed)
