We had a storm here a few years ago and there was wood everywhere. That lasted a month or two, then it was back to reality and I am left wishing I had hauled more. I ended up with about two years supply from that storm. Get all the wood you can.
 
Last year I had some Bitternut Hickory and Black Locust and I think the Locust put off more heat. This year I've got Shagbark Hickory and locust and I'll compare those two. It's just hard to beat locust the stuff puts off a lot of heat.
I have yet to burn White Oak, Osage, Ironwood yet.
