Went on the hunt for wood yesterday with my son. There was a house I passed on the way to work this past spring that some trees fell. I called the lady up and asked if we could come back and got a resounding yes.. and more oak fell apparently. We went there armed with the new gear.. 16ft dump trailer and my trac machine armed with a 78" grapple bucket, some sandwiches from mom and the saws. Went there at 8am and this is what we got in less than 4 hours.. It looks like a little over 1.5 cords.. All long length was about 14ft [Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys[Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys[Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys[Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys[Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys[Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys[Hearth.com] on the scrounge with new toys

Very nice score. I also have a dump trailer, very useful tool.

yes.. beats having to go back to the shop and grab a dump truck. The trailer will hold as much as one of my F450 or 550s will with out having to go grab one. This trailer is my neighbors, I'm borrowing it to see if I want this one or go to an 18'. Im thinking of making the sides a little taller to hold more for sure.

This lady has been great.. amazed at how my boy runs the machine.. happy to have the wood gone.. happy to give me my free heat..

Best tool in the business, in my opinion. Track steer with a grapple and a bucket and you can do just about anything.

its amazing to me to move that amount of wood and not be tired at all.. In less than a day we scrounge over 1.5 cords.. moved it to the house, cut the logs down to lenth and moved all the wood out back to the storage area and cleaned up.. and didn't loft 1 log and not tired at all

16’ is what I have also. You can buy em with taller sides, then add wood for a little extra yet.
I just added 2x12s that i had laying around.
