Why couldnt you split it?

Just wondering....

It was hard as a rock...is was easier to cut em into more manageable pieces...i just had the x27 didnt go get the hammer and wedges..

cherry usually splits pretty easy with a x27. Just start on the outside and work your way in.

Nice get! Doesn't look like a Black Cherry. If it was a Sweet Cherry yard tree with a lot of branching, those will be tough to split.

Its def cherry...ive never seen one that big..it smells and looks exactly like the smaller rounds..it was laying with no bark on at all..
