Snow again today 10 to 12 cm . School buses cancelled.
Then a warm-up is coming, they are forecasting above freezing

1-3 predicted for my area from 5pm to around midnight. The weather for next week could be a mess. Calling for snow changing over to rain. Hopefully, that doesn't happen.

It rained here yesterday (CA, 100 miles from LA).
Folks were happy!

We have rain, snow and freezing rain coming at us. After we put in some wood I did another hour of work outside, just before I came in the rain started, nothing heavy yet. It does look like we have heavy rains hitting this area a bit later before the snow starts.

This afternoon and overnight, they are talking 20 cm with
some freezing rain and ice pellets. Think I'll stay home
and watch the fire

Had 2 cars do unplanned stunts in front of me in a 15 minute drive. One was pretty involved with a few 360s.

There is still 4-6" on the ground after a day of rain and 37 F yesterday. And piles and piles...
And tomorrow 13-18" and 55 mph...

A good old fashioned winter? One for the record book? March is just around the corner!

I don't know about record books for LI. Haven't been here long enough.
2018 was similar tho.
Seems about once a decade we get hammered.

I’m visiting LI today. We’re checking out Stony Brook. Your weather is much warmer than ours, lol.

Well today feels really warm indeed. Sunny too.
It's been 36-38 here this week for the highs..(hence me burning solar electrons).

Stony Brook campus is ugly. Town is nice imo.
Good university tho.

The kid likes the campus. The town is nice. I suspect they aren’t going to throw money at her like the two that have gone to her coach expressing interest in her. We’ll see. She’s only a junior, so there’s time for her to think about it.

The weather was very warm indeed today.

The kid liking it is most important (apart from the $$...)!

The Chinook is going to get a workout the next couple of day.

I'm looking forward to it. The minisplit does its thing but is not as enjoyable.
Though it'll only be around freezing during the day. Monday night 22, Tuesday night 16. So apart from those nights no flame in the box ...

NWS warning is now 15-20"...

I have blowing snow right now so it's spotty. Pretty good winds. I can hear the wind in the trees. However, on Monday afternoon it's looking like a real stay at home in front of the fire day.

Driving back home last night was horrible. I hate the city! She slept the entire way. I doubt she even noticed the traffic, lol.

I agree. I avoid it like the plague. But to get off this island one has to. It sucks

I hate driving at night. I'm glad I'm retired and can pick when I drive. I'm pretty close to shopping too, maybe a 5 minute drive. I'm sure your daughter appreciates your contributions.

Glad you made it back safely and ahead of the storm.

Lemme know if you want any info on local area, Stony Brook is less than 1/2 an hour away from me .

Funny, my daughter turned down SBU to go to Brockport ;) ;lol

I saw an exit for Dix Hills! I was like , Oh…

The town was really cute! Gas was pricey though! It was cheaper on the thruway by over 50c/gal!

That's far west of where I am and where Dix is.
I tend to avoid going west from where I live. Too crowded, too many traffic lights, no open spaces.
