Everyone went to work today. Including myself, even though the weather snarled and barked at me. Me and one other guy went up on the roof job. It was a high of 17* without including the wind chill. It was also snowy and gusty.
I gave the dragon a few more good hearty splits, before leaving this morning. 6pm, upon returning home, there were still coals left.... just enough for an easy relight. I took advantage of the small coal pile and removed a half dozen scoops of processed ashes. A pair of black cherry splits and 6 R oak took to fire. It was a battle breathing some heat back into the house. The howling winds still seemed to cut thru the walls. I added 4 more premium splits of the oaks before settling in for dinner late in the evening. Added a another pair of oaks to the dragon's delight.
By 9pm, sleep took it's toll on me as I slumbered off into the couch. I was awakened by the dragon's hungry cries and the coldness creeping back in. Back in the lair, I started another entry on top off a enormous bed of coals with dancing blue flames. A large honey locust split flanked with 2 red oak splits. On top lay 2 more reds, small in size resembling mozzarella sticks. Appetizers laid diagonally. I left the air draft wide as my bladder cried as well.
Now I sit here writing another tale from the lair. 12:30AM
Are we there yet?
